General usage information

The ELPA (Eignevalue soLvers for Petaflop Applications) library provides highly efficient and highly scalable direct eigensolvers for symmetric matrices. Though especially designed for use for PetaFlop/s applications solving large problem sizes on massively parallel supercomputers, ELPA eigensolvers have proven to be also very efficient for smaller matrices.

The following environmental variables have been defined:

  • \$ELPA_ROOT has been set to the root of the elpa installation
  • \$ELPA_LIBDIR points to the directory containing the libraries
  • \$ELPA_INCDIR points to the directory containing the header files

You will probably wish to use these by adding the following flags to your compilation command (e.g. to CFLAGS in your Makefile):

  • -I\$ELPA_INCDIR
and the following flags to your link command (e.g. LDFLAGS in your Makefile):
  • -L\$ELPA_LIBDIR -Wl,-rpath,\$ELPA_LIBDIR${endlist}
