Perl 5.004-01 installed on SunOS 4.1.4 to fix bugs and a previous miscompilation. The old version is available as /usr/local/perl5/bin/perl5.002.

The default Netscape is now Netscape 3.04 Gold.
The Java Developer Kit has been upgraded to 1.1.5, and is now the default version of JDK (when java is tapped). The older version (1.0.2) can be accessed by tapping oldjava.

Perl 5.004-01 installed on all Alpha platforms to fix bugs and a previous miscompilation. The old version is available as /usr/local/perl5/bin/perl5.002.
Netscape Communicator Professional Edition version 4.0x for Solaris, HPUX, AIX, SGI, and SunOS has been installed, type "netscape4" to start. For Alpha users, the preview release for Digital Unix 3.2 is available as "netscape4b", Digital Unix 4.x users encouraged to use "regular" netscape.
For those who wish to live life on the edge, Microsoft's Internet Explorer preview release 1 for Solaris has been installed for your evaluation.

Simeon 4.1.1 installed on available Glue and WAM platforms. These are (Solaris, OSF/1, DU, HP-UX, and IRIX)
MH 6.8.3 reinstalled on Glue Digital Unix Platforms.
imapd 4.1 installed on Glue and WAM imap servers.

Updated telnet and telnetd which support Kerberos V4 authentication and encryption installed on Solaris 2.5. Other platforms coming soon.

The Solaris Workshop software (compilers) has been upgraded to version 3.0. This finally brings Fortran-90 to the Solaris platform. This upgrade also affects the C, C++, Pascal, and Fortran-77 compilers. For more information, see the documentation provided with the software. If you need to use the old compilers for any reason, they are still available - just make sure /opt/SUNWspro.old/bin is first in your path.

gnuplot version 3.6b319 has been installed on the Sun and Alpha platforms. Since this is beta software, it has been installed as and should be called as gnuplot_36b
GNU Graphic utils verion 0.17 installed on all Sun and Alpha platforms
Transfig upgraded to 3.1.1 on all SunOS platforms.
Mathematica 3.0 installed, on all DEC non-Alpha machines. To access: tap mathematica30
Adobe Acrobat upgraded to version 3.0. Available for HPUX, SGI, SunOS, and Solaris. Acrobat Plug-in has been added to Netscape. Tap acrobat for more info.
Due to problems with the installation with Mathematica version 2.2, it has been completely reinstalled. If you find any problems with this release of Mathematica, please use request.
MeetingMaker version 3.6 has been installed. It is only available for Solaris machines. You must have an account on a MeetingMaker server to use this software.
