This four day workshop is targeted at graduate students, research staff, and faculty members with computational science and engineering problems that demand high performance. This course will introduce participants to the basics of high-performance parallel computing, and will cover:

Attendees will use queuing systems such as Slurm and existing high-end resources at the University of Maryland during the course. (Temporary accounts on the Deepthought2 cluster will be provided). The class is segmented into morning lectures (from 9:30 AM til about noon), breaking for lunch (NOT provided), followed by afternoon lab exercises (from about 1 PM to 4 PM or so).

Although there are no formal prerequisites for the course, much of the discussion covers issues of coding. Some basic knowledge of Unix and of C and/or Fortran programming is assumed.

While the official application deadline is 4 Jan 2019, space is limited to 30 participants on a first-come first-serve basis, and registration will close once the workshop is full, so we advise you register today to ensure a seat. Registration is not considered complete until all payment information is received (e.g. KFS account number, etc.). If paying by credit card, DO NOT include credit card information on the form --- we will contact you over the phone for such.

NOTE: DIT reserves the right to cancel the workshop for any reason with little notice --- if the workshop is canceled by DIT all registration fees will be refunded.

If you have questions or need more information about the bootcamp, please feel free to contact us.
