General usage information

The Visualization Toolkit (VTK) is open source software for manipulating and displaying scientific data. It comes with state-of-the-art tools for 3D rendering, a suite of widgets for 3D interaction, and extensive 2D plotting capability.

This module will add the various vtk* commands to your PATH.

The following environmental variables have been defined:

• \$VTK_ROOT has been set to the root of the vtk installation
• \$VTK_LIBDIR points to the directory containing the libraries
• \$VTK_INCDIR points to the directory containing the header files

You will probably wish to use these by adding the following flags to your compilation command (e.g. to CFLAGS in your Makefile):

• -I\$VTK_INCDIR

and the following flags to your link command (e.g. LDFLAGS in your Makefile):

• -L\$VTK_LIBDIR -Wl,-rpath,\$VTK_LIBDIR
